About Me

My name is Maggie Sunshine Wallace, and Sunshine Esthetics is the result of nearly a decade of study, practice, and a deep respect for both skin and nature.

I hold a degree in Anthropology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, with minors in Art History, Fine Art, and Archaeology, along with a certificate in Esthetics from the Aveda Institute of Minneapolis. After completing my training at Aveda, I became a licensed esthetician and have now been working hands-on with skin for almost ten years.

I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and like many people, my interest in skincare began personally. Growing up, I struggled with acne and spent years searching for products that promised results—but often left my skin stripped, irritated, and compromised. Eventually, I turned to my aunt, a long-established esthetician in Colorado, who helped reframe how I thought about skin. Through her guidance, I learned the importance of consistent facials, awareness around food sensitivities, nervous system care, and maintaining balance rather than fighting the skin.

That experience changed everything.

My career has included work in medical esthetics within a dermatology clinic, as well as hands-on experience with countless professional skincare lines—from medical-grade to spa-based. Over time, these experiences shaped a core belief that guides my work today: healthy skin is balanced skin. So many modern products rely on aggressive actives, stripping agents, fillers, and preservatives that disrupt the skin’s natural barrier and create a cycle of dependency rather than true healing.

Rather than participating in that cycle, I chose a different path.

At Sunshine Esthetics, I create fresh, in-house masks and treatments, made at the time of your facial using organic, non-GMO, plant-based ingredients. My approach honors the skin as a living organ—one that responds best to nourishment, patience, and ingredients it recognizes. Each treatment is customized, intentional, and rooted in the belief that we evolved with nature, not against it.

Sunshine Esthetics is a space for all skin types and conditions. My goal is simple: to help you feel comfortable, confident, and truly at home in your skin.
