diy exfoliation

In my years as an esthetician, I have worked with a LOT of lines. From medical grade lines to lines that are more affordable, and in this I feel I have made a loop back to the beginning. Remember when you were a kid and you would play spa, making masks out of stuff in the fridge and pampering each other? For a long time I thought that was just pretend, that it can’t be that easy to have beautiful healthy skin, that in order to have happy skin you must put faith in companies that put millions into marketing, and thousands into the actual product (jaded much maggie!?).

All in all I want to express the importance of reading labels, learning ingredients, and if you don’t want to become an ultra skin care nerd like me then follow some simple recipes to make your own products at home. I promise it’s not hard, and you will be healthier for it!!!

Recipe: DIY 🍯 Honey-Oat Polishing Scrub 🍯

Safe for winter worn, sensitive skin that feels like it’s rough or like any amount of oil or moisturizer you use just isn’t getting through!

Use 2x per week! Follow-up with your favorite oil or moisturizer.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp colloidal oatmeal (clinically soothing, reduces redness + irritation, contains beta-glucans that calm inflammation, gentle!)

½ tbsp honey (humectant + antibacterial)

½–1 tsp sunflower oil (lightweight, high in linoleic acid, excellent for barrier support) feel free to substitute with any of your favorite pure oils.
